Cowley College ACES Celebrate Another Successful Year for the Pulled Pork Dinner

The annual Cowley College ACES Pulled Pork Dinner was a tremendous success, with more than 250 meals served in support of the college’s food packaging initiative. Proceeds from the dinner will directly fund Cowley College’s annual food packaging event, where ACES students and volunteers work together to assemble over 20,000 meal servings for local food pantries, churches, and blessing boxes throughout Cowley County.
This year’s fundraiser saw the participation of over 27 student volunteers, including members of the ACES program as well as students from Cowley’s social sciences classes. Their dedication and teamwork helped ensure a smooth and successful event from start to finish.
Cowley College extends a heartfelt thank-you to the Optimist Club for preparing all of the pork and assisting throughout the day. Gratitude is also extended to the Central Christian Church Ladies for providing coleslaw and to Fresh Ideas for generously donating cakes for the meal. These valued partners continue to be a vital part of the event’s ongoing success.
In addition to the dinner, members of the Early Bird Lions Club attended the event and presented a donation check to the ACES organization. Their continued support helps strengthen the program’s mission of service and outreach across the community.
“Events like this showcase what can happen when students, community members, and local service organizations come together for a common purpose,” said ACES coordinators. “We are incredibly grateful for the support and generosity shown year after year.”
Cowley College extends its appreciation to everyone who purchased meals, volunteered their time, or contributed in any way. Because of this overwhelming support, Cowley College students are empowered to continue making a positive difference through acts of service, compassion, and community engagement.
