Community All Sports Tiger Tailgate to Feature Family Fun and Foster Parent Awareness

Cowley College and the Tiger Athletic Department, led by Jeff Fluty, will host the annual Community All Sports Tiger Tailgate on Monday, August 26, from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. in the east parking lot of W.S. Scott Auditorium. The event celebrates the start of the athletic season and highlights the Tiger Foster Parent Program, an initiative that supports student-athletes who may not have a nearby family.
The evening will feature team introductions, free hamburgers and hot dogs (while supplies last), lawn games, and music from KSOK/BOB FM. Community members will have the opportunity to meet Cowley athletes and coaches in a relaxed, family-friendly setting.
The Tiger Foster Parent Program connects student-athletes with local families or individuals who can offer a supportive, home-like presence during their time at Cowley. It’s designed to help students build meaningful relationships and feel a stronger connection to the community. Representatives will be available at the event to share more about how to get involved.
“This isn’t just about athletics—it’s about community,” said Jeff Fluty. “The Tiger Foster Parent Program creates bonds that make a real difference in the lives of our students.”
This event is made possible thanks to the generous support of KSOK/BOB FM, Panhandle Federal Credit Union, and the Optimists of Arkansas City. Their contributions help create a welcoming environment where students and community members can come together in celebration and support.
Attendees are encouraged to bring lawn chairs and enjoy an evening of food, fun, and fellowship as Cowley kicks off a new athletic year.
