Cowley College Names Nathan Curran March 2026 Student of the Month

Cowley College is proud to recognize Nathan Curran as the March Student of the Month, honoring his outstanding leadership, campus involvement, and commitment to both academics and community service.
Nathan, a 20-year-old from Winfield, Kansas, is pursuing both an Associate of Arts in Mass Communications and an Associate of Fine Arts in Theater. With a current GPA of 3.37, he has demonstrated a strong dedication to his studies while remaining deeply engaged in campus life. A graduate of Winfield High School, Nathan chose Cowley College as an affordable and supportive place to explore his passions and determine his future path.
That decision has proven to be a meaningful one, as Nathan has immersed himself in a wide variety of leadership roles and activities. He serves as a Resident Assistant, Student Ambassador, Student Senate Sophomore Liaison, and Vice President of Phi Theta Kappa. In addition, he is actively involved in Theater, Choir, Media Club, Act One Drama Club, IMPACT, and FCA, consistently going above and beyond to make a difference on campus.
Nathan also balances multiple professional responsibilities. He works as a seasonal lake ranger for the City of Winfield, fills in at the 107.9 radio station when needed, and serves as a Resident Assistant at the college. His ability to manage these roles while staying actively involved speaks to his strong work ethic and time management skills.
His commitment to service extends beyond campus. During his time portraying Tank the Tiger, Nathan connected with the community through events such as National Night Out, Arkalalah, visits to local elementary schools, and children’s birthday parties. He has also contributed to food packaging events and other service initiatives, proudly representing Cowley College.
Nathan is the son of Justin Curran, who works at GE in Strother Field, and Teresa Curran, who is employed at Winfield Middle School. He has three siblings: Lucas (18), Jake (16), and Madison (14), who continue to support him throughout his journey.
After graduating from Cowley College, Nathan plans to attend a four-year university to pursue a degree in sports and news media, building on the strong foundation he has established.
Being named Student of the Month is especially meaningful for Nathan, as it was a goal he set for himself early in his college career. “I am very grateful for the opportunity to be Student of the Month. It feels unreal that I actually accomplished it,” he shared. “Thank you so much for choosing me to receive this award—I am very honored. Go Tigers!”
Cowley College proudly congratulates Nathan Curran on this well-deserved recognition and looks forward to all he will achieve in the future.
